<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>In today&#8217;s tip we will see how to Open Menu Custom Links/External Links in a new window in WordPress. When you are creating your menu there are times when you have custom links (which might be a page or post on a website other than your own). Its a good idea to open them in a new window so the user does not navigate away from your site. You can use this tip to even open pages or post that are part of your menu, in a new tab.</p>
<h2>Steps to Open Custom Links in a New Window/Tab</h2>
<p>Step 1:<br />Click on Appearance &#8211;&gt; Menu in the WordPress dashboard.</p>
<p>Step 2:<br />Look for the Screen Options drop down menu in the top right corner of your browser window.</p>
<div id="attachment_118637" style="width: 1323px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-118637" class="wp-image-118637 size-full" title="Click on Screen Options in WordPress" src="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Click-on-Screen-Options-WordPress.jpg" alt="Click on Screen Options in WordPress" width="1313" height="360" srcset="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Click-on-Screen-Options-WordPress.jpg 1313w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Click-on-Screen-Options-WordPress-1280x351.jpg 1280w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Click-on-Screen-Options-WordPress-980x269.jpg 980w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Click-on-Screen-Options-WordPress-480x132.jpg 480w" sizes="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) and (max-width: 1280px) 1280px, (min-width: 1281px) 1313px, 100vw" /><p id="caption-attachment-118637" class="wp-caption-text">Click on Screen Options in WordPress</p></div>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Step 3:<br />Under Show advanced menu properties enable the Link Target checkbox.</p>
<div id="attachment_118638" style="width: 1323px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-118638" class="wp-image-118638 size-full" title="Enable Link Target" src="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Enable-Link-Target.jpg" alt="Enable Link Target" width="1313" height="456" srcset="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Enable-Link-Target.jpg 1313w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Enable-Link-Target-1280x445.jpg 1280w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Enable-Link-Target-980x340.jpg 980w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Enable-Link-Target-480x167.jpg 480w" sizes="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) and (max-width: 1280px) 1280px, (min-width: 1281px) 1313px, 100vw" /><p id="caption-attachment-118638" class="wp-caption-text">Enable Link Target</p></div>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Step 4:<br />Add a new link to your custom menu and click on drop down arrow to edit menu items. Click on &#8220;Open Link in a new tab&#8221;. This option is now available since you have enabled the Link Target in your screen options.</p>
<div id="attachment_118639" style="width: 1052px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-118639" class="wp-image-118639 size-full" title="Open Custom Links in New Window/Tab" src="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Open-Link-in-new-tab.jpg" alt="Open Custom Links in New Window/Tab" width="1042" height="608" srcset="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Open-Link-in-new-tab.jpg 1042w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Open-Link-in-new-tab-980x572.jpg 980w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Open-Link-in-new-tab-480x280.jpg 480w" sizes="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1042px, 100vw" /><p id="caption-attachment-118639" class="wp-caption-text">Open Custom Links in New Window/Tab</p></div>

<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>Do you want to display all your WordPress posts, pages or Custom Post Types on one page on the dashboard?  This can be really helpful if you have a lot of pages or post and you don&#8217;t want to keep clicking the next 20 button to find your post. By default WordPress is set to only 20 posts or pages at a time.</p>
<p>Recently, one of my clients had about 300 posts and was getting frustrated with navigating and finding posts on the dashboard. I set the number of posts to &#8220;999&#8221; to show &#8220;999&#8221; posts on the dashboard.</p>
<h3>Use the Screen Options to show all Posts/Pages on WordPress Dashboard</h3>
<p>The WordPress Editor page contains meta boxes. There is the main edit box, and then there are other metaboxes like Publish, Format, Categories, Tags, Featured Image, which can take up real estate on your screen.</p>
<p>You can find the Screen Options drop down on the top of your dashboard. Remember the Screen Options are context sensitive, which means they show up for some of the items on the dashboard and don&#8217;t on some. So Pages, Posts, Categories, Tags, Custom Post Types, Users, all have Screen Options whereas Tools, Media etc. do not show the Screen Options. Take advantage of these to customize your editing experience.</p>
<p>When you click on the Screen Options you will notice a check box for every meta-box.The visibility of these meta boxes can easily be toggled to be visible or not-visible using the Screen Options. The options or checkboxes in the Screen Options are also context sensitive. In my image below, there are checkboxes that are showing  the SEO Title, Keyphrase etc. also. If these are not on your options screen, it&#8217;s totally fine. I have an SEO plugin installed and so its showing some extra checkboxes.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s see how we can use these Screen Options to show all the posts or pages on the same screen, without pagination.</p>
<h4>Posts &#8211; Displaying all posts on the WordPress Dashboard</h4>
<p>Step1 Click on Posts &#8211; All Posts.<br />Step 2 Click on Screen Options on the top right hand corner.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-118002 size-large" title="Display More Posts WordPress" src="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Display-More-Posts-WordPress-1024x213.jpg" alt="Display More Posts WordPress" width="1024" height="213" srcset="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Display-More-Posts-WordPress-1024x213.jpg 1024w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Display-More-Posts-WordPress-300x62.jpg 300w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Display-More-Posts-WordPress-768x159.jpg 768w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Display-More-Posts-WordPress-1080x224.jpg 1080w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Display-More-Posts-WordPress.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>Step 3 In the Pagination section, Change the Number of items per page: to a higher number like 500. I have set it to 200 here. You can set it to a maximum of 999 posts.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-118000 size-large" src="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Screen-Options-for-Posts-in-WordPress-1024x296.jpg" alt="Screen Options for Posts in WordPress" width="1024" height="296" srcset="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Screen-Options-for-Posts-in-WordPress-1024x296.jpg 1024w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Screen-Options-for-Posts-in-WordPress-300x87.jpg 300w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Screen-Options-for-Posts-in-WordPress-768x222.jpg 768w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Screen-Options-for-Posts-in-WordPress-1080x312.jpg 1080w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Screen-Options-for-Posts-in-WordPress.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<h4>Pages &#8211; Displaying all pages on the WordPress Dashboard</h4>
<p>The process for pages is exactly the same as for posts. Furthermore, If you are using the DIVI theme, then you will also have a custom post type of &#8216;Projects&#8217;. This tip will work for posts, pages and your custom post types.</p>
<p>Here in the image below, I have 24 projects and as you can see, all of them are visible on a single page.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-118015 size-large" title="Display All Projects On Same Page" src="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/display-projects-wordpress-1024x836.jpg" alt="Display All Projects on same page" width="1024" height="836" srcset="https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/display-projects-wordpress-1024x836.jpg 1024w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/display-projects-wordpress-300x245.jpg 300w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/display-projects-wordpress-768x627.jpg 768w, https://wpportfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/display-projects-wordpress.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>You can set the pagination to a higher number in a similar way for Comments, Plugins, Users, Categories and Tags also.</p>
<p>Now that you have all your posts or pages showing on the same page you can use the keyboard shortcut CRT+<strong>F</strong> (for Windows) or <span class="ILfuVd NA6bn"> Command+<b>F</b> </span> (for Mac) to find any post by a search keyword.</p>
<p>I hope this tip was helpful for you and will save you time when you have to look for a post or a page on your dashboard.</p></div>

<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><p>I am a DIVI and WordPress freelancer. In this DIVI blog I want to share with you many DIVI and WordPress Tips. Having mastered DIVI over the years I have used most of them in various projects for my clients. Some of the tips that I have shared, I use them on every website.</p>
<h4>What can DIVI do for you ?</h4>
<p>The theme gives you a lot of options to customize your site and also has a Visual Builder to build your site using their User Interface. The interface is quite friendly and you can achieve a lot of things by changing the settings in the different modules. However, there are times that you will not have an option to change things directly. Sometimes your client might ask you to customize their site to match their branding. In that case you have to use some CSS or JQuery to be able to customize your DIVI site. You can check out my <a href="https://wpportfolio.com/divi-blog/">DIVI Tips and Tricks</a> to use some custom CSS and jQuery to help you customize your site.</p>
<p>DIVI is a premium theme from Elegant themes. Having a lifetime membership with Elegant Themes, also gives me access to their customer support. They have been very helpful in guiding me whenever I have had an issue.</p>
<p>I hope that some of my DIVI and WordPress tips helps you in case you land here.  Many of the tricks have been learnt from other sites, from tweaking the CSS in the Inspector tools on the browser and also from the various DIVI Facebook groups. If you are stuck with a specific issue styling a page or a module, <a href="https://wpportfolio.com/contact-divi-freelancer/">do drop me a note</a> and I will try my best to help you.</p>
<p>If you are using DIVI, I am available for new projects or helping you maintain or update your site periodically.</p></div>
